Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is the disease that occurs when the blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries (the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs) becomes higher than normal putting additional work and stress on the right side of the heart. Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is a chronic condition that can become life threatening. It affects people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Dr Gordan is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including San Luis Valley Health-Alamosa and Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. he specializes in treating disorders of the lungs and respiratory system, including pneumonia, tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema.
