Walk with a Doc- Now at South Denver Cardiology

Exercise is Medicine!
Studies have consistently shown the numerous benefits of having an active lifestyle versus a sedentary lifestyle. Often we have the mindset that going on a walk won’t be enough to make a difference in our health, but that isn’t the case at all. Taking that first step towards living a healthier life can be difficult, but it could be the life change that is needed. Walking was recently recognized by the Surgeon General of the United States of America as one of the single most important things we can do for our health. Any sort of physical activity is better than living a sedentary lifestyle.
According to the American Heart Association, “The simplest, positive change you can make to effectively improve your heart health is to start walking.” At South Denver Cardiology Associates we have become a partner of Walk with a Doc, an organization that promotes walking your way to a healthier lifestyle. Walk with a Doc started in 2005 with Dr. David Sabgir. He invited his patients to walk with him and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. This first walk helped begin the organization that would spread across the United States to over 400 chapters.

At the Walk, you will:

Every week, across the United States, people gather in parks and on paths for a walk towards a healthier lifestyle with Walk with a Doc. As a new partner, South Denver Cardiology will be hosting its inaugural event on Saturday, October 6th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at 1000 Southpark Drive, Littleton, CO 80120. Dr. Ira Dauber will be speaking on a health topic that everyone can benefit from. We will have coffee and snacks before embarking on our one-mile walk. Come to walk with us toward a healthier lifestyle.
