Nicholas Palmeri, MD

Electrophysiologist

Dr. Nicholas (Nick) Palmeri is a Colorado native who is thrilled to return to practice medicine and serve his hometown of Denver! After an undergraduate degree in Biology at Middlebury College, Nick completed medical school and residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Next, he completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.

To best serve his patients, he has learned various techniques to treat cardiac arrhythmias, including ablation for atrial fibrillation, and he especially enjoys tackling complex cases such as redo-ablation, atrial tachycardia ablation, and vein of Marshall ethanol ablation. Nick also performs left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) with the Watchman and Amulet devices, having focused on better tracking of procedural outcomes and expanding the use of these devices during fellowship. Additionally, Nick performs all forms of cardiac electronic device implantation, including pacemakers, defibrillators, biventricular/CRT devices, leadless pacemakers, and subcutaneous defibrillators. Laser lead extraction was a major focus of Nick’s training, and he has a particular interest in device infection, lead-related venous obstruction, and complex lead and device management. Overall, he tailors treatment to the individual and collaborates to create a plan of action that works according to his patients’ values.

Nick enjoys skiing, cooking, and spending time with his wife, three children, and a pug dog outside of work.
