Luke Cerbin, MD

Electrophysiology

Dr. Lukasz (Luke) Cerbin was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He attended Indiana University for undergraduate studies in biology and neuroscience, graduating with the highest distinction. He then attended Northwestern University in Chicago for medical school, discovering his passion for cardiology. After medical school, he traveled to Duke University for Internal Medicine residency, where he published numerous research papers while working with the illustrious Duke Clinical Research Institute. In hopes of settling permanently in view of the mountains, Luke relocated to Denver for cardiology. Then electrophysiology (EP) fellowships at the University of Colorado, where he received numerous teaching and clinical awards and served as chief fellow. He remained at the University of Colorado for several years as a faculty member before relocating to South Denver Cardiology.

Luke has a passion for clinical electrophysiology and unbridled enthusiasm for ablation of complex arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and accessory pathways. He is particularly interested in ablation of ventricular arrhythmias (ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions [PVCs]) and managing these arrhythmias in patients with cardiomyopathies and inherited arrhythmia syndromes. He is also adept at implantation of contemporary cardiac devices such as pacemakers, leadless pacemakers, and defibrillators. Luke believes in incorporating state-of-the-art technology and techniques to achieve the best possible results for his patients.

When not practicing cardiology, Luke enjoys running, hiking, cooking, and sports, including cheering on the Indiana University basketball team and any activity that allows him to spend time with his wife and three young children.
