Kathy Siegel, FNP-C, first joined SDCA in 2012 as a clinical research nurse. Her love of research started at a young age; her first job at 15 was working in research in an animal lab. She received her first bachelorā€™s degree in Integrative Physiology in 2006 from CU Boulder, and after two more years as a Professional Research Assistant in an animal lab working for a nephrologist, she went back to school to obtain her BSN from Regis University. She spent a few years working in a telemetry unit and cardiac stepdown unit in the hospital. She started at SDCA in 2012 and obtained her Masterā€™s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Regis University in 2016. She spent 4.5 years in Portland, OR, working in primary care before returning to research at South Denver Cardiology. She is passionate about research and cardiology and loves working at SDCA.

Kathy is a pretend Colorado native (born in California) who loves the ocean and mountains. She loves to hike, bike, run, spend time with her family and two kids, and travel to the ocean in her free time.
