Andrew Prouse, MD

General Cardiologist

Andrew F. Prouse, M.D., joined the South Denver Cardiology Associatesā€™ team in 2023 as a general cardiologist and imaging specialist. Believing in empowering all individuals through education, collaboration, and treatment to live healthier, lengthier, and more abundant lives, Dr. Prouse works with patients on a personal level to treat them as a whole. It is central to his philosophy that his team and his patients form a partnership, both contributing to achieving better cardiac health.

Dr. Prouse is a native of Orlando, Florida, and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance before realizing his true passion was medicine. He attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating with honors in 2011. He was then admitted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. Following medical school, he completed his residency training in Seattle at the University of Washington and then completed a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Colorado, graduating in 2018. Following graduation, Dr. Prouse served as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Colorado before moving to the south side of Denver to join SDCA.

Dr. Prouse has received many accolades for his research, teaching, and clinical activities. However, he is most proud of the Gold Humanism Medical Award from trainees at the University of Colorado. This is awarded to physicians who provided the highest level of compassion, collaboration, and scientific excellence toward creating systems and cultures that support humanistic care for all.

Before joining South Denver Cardiology, Dr. Prouse served as the primary referral Cardiologist for the Denver Health obstetrics department and was the cardiac specialist for the high-risk OB planning committee. In that role, he helped formulate complex treatment plans with the obstetricians and anesthesiologists for pregnant moms with known cardiac conditions. This often included arrhythmias, valve disease, and heart dysfunction.

Dr. Prouse is boarded in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Peripheral Vascular Radiographic Interpretation. In his free time, Dr. Prouse is an avid cyclist, having biked across the United States, and enjoys skiing, hiking, and the occasional trip to the beach. He spends most of his free time with his wife, Dr. Emily Prouse, a local OBGYN, and their three amazing children.
