Heart Doctor Loves Flaxseed Oatmeal Pancakes!

Instead of slathering traditional hot cakes in butter and syrup, try this healthier alternative from Mr. Breakfast that incorporates flaxseed and oatmeal for a pancake that heart doctors urge you to enjoy!
Mr. Breakfast Flaxseed Oatmeal Pancakes:
Makes 6 Servings of 2 pancakes each. Preparation time: 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup quick cooking or old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 and 1/2 cups dry whole-wheat pancake mix
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
- 2 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation: Combine all dry ingredients, then mix in milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Let the mix stand for 15 minutes. Pour batter into pools of desired pancake size on a hot griddle lightly greased with cooking spray. Flip when the batter begins to bubble, and cook until the pancakes are lightly browned on both sides. Serve topped with fruit or applesauce and enjoy!
